11:08 pm - Stinky kitties no more
|
I bathed the cats today. I had the bright idea that perhaps giving them baths would help get some of the fur they've been shedding off. Judging by the hair catcher on the drain, I was correct.
I went with Wolfie's advice and did Kaylee first. She cried and cried, but for the most part stayed fairly still. She calmed down a good deal when I stripped off and climbed in with her to rinse her off. Taking that as a good idea, I did the same for River, who was a bit more squirmy, but put up with it all with less squalling. For both of them, I just cupped a little warm water in my hand and petted them with it to start with. It seemed to help the whole "I'm a cat and I hate being wet" thing.
No injuries! No kitty bites or scratches. Mostly, they took it as a good massaging.
I will definitely be climbing in with them again next time, probably for the whole process since that seemed to help the situation.
But, I now has clean kitties.

Today, I did what I've been desperately trying not to do. I finally did a little letting go.
I cleaned out all of the PMs from my alliance seattle account except for things from the last couple of days.
Maybe it's because of the atmosphere of that game right now that I was finally able to do so. *shrug*

Got my NMR lab sheet back. Perfect 15. Got my lab report for one of the previous labs back. I'm not surprised I got a 10. I was surprised to see my flaky, never-there lab partner's name crossed off it. I'd put her name on there because she'd sent me the answers to the questions for the lab. I guess my instructor did not agree with my assessment of the situation. I'm not going to argue with him about it either.
(She actually managed to show up and do an NMR sheet herself apparently. It was supposed to be partner work. She got 6.)

12:01 pm - From a news story
|
"Congress passed and Bush signed a stimulus package that will send tax rebates to many families and businesses. But some fear it will come too late — or that people will use the money to save or pay off debt, rather than go on a spending spree that would boost the economy."
No shit? Really? Americans might go and be responsible with their money and use it to pay off the mounting debts they have because of the shitty way you've run things, Mr. Bush, instead of buying a new pair of shoes?
Who'd have thought?!

So, I went. First time since I became 18 and eligible to vote that I have. I put my hand down solidly for Obama. And I'm on the list of alternate delegates for our precinct for the next round.
I actually honestly wanted to stand up and be a delegate, but I wasn't sure I'd be able to finagle the finances to go to Denver at the end if it came to that.
Most of the people speaking for Clinton kept saying Obama was a nice talker, but doesn't have the experience to do it. To that I say thus: You can buy experience. There are plenty of individuals with it who would be willing to impart that experience as advice. You cannot, however, purchase the intelligence to do so, the wisdom to evaluate that advice before moving forward, and, most importantly, the sheer charisma to pull it all off.

Aced my Japanese test, just like I thought. In fact, since we had school canceled for snow on Monday, making it so that I normally wouldn't be able to go to the tutoring center to do my homework, Sensei is going to let me go to the tutoring center during class tomorrow to get it done while most of the class is challenging stuff they goofed on.
B- on the first Calc test we had; mostly stupid mistakes. Don't know yet about the Organic test, but I didn't feel good about it when I walked out of the classroom so probably not too well. First test with a new teacher so I'm taking it with a grain of salt, but at least I know what to expect on the second test and can make sure to do better.

I'm trying to get back on to a normal sleep schedule now that school has started up again. I've been having a hard time going to bed early, resulting in needing naps when I get home. Except today, where I seem to have made it to bed by 10:30... but have woken up at 4:30.
At least it's my light day.

Tree's up. Later than I wanted, but oh well. Only incident is that there's a section out. Sections above and below have power, so it's probably a dead bulb. Don't really want to go through it all. I think there might be a warranty on it though. Too done with tree to look. Will check later. If not, ugh.

I Am A: True Neutral Human Sorcerer (4th Level)
Ability Scores:
Strength-15
Dexterity-15
Constitution-16
Intelligence-17
Wisdom-17
Charisma-12
Alignment: True Neutral A true neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. He doesn't feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most true neutral characters exhibit a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil after all, he would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones. Still, he's not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way. Some true neutral characters, on the other hand, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as prejudices and dangerous extremes. They advocate the middle way of neutrality as the best, most balanced road in the long run. True neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you act naturally, without prejudice or compulsion. However, true neutral can be a dangerous alignment because it represents apathy, indifference, and a lack of conviction.
Race: Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.
Class: Sorcerers are arcane spellcasters who manipulate magic energy with imagination and talent rather than studious discipline. They have no books, no mentors, no theories just raw power that they direct at will. Sorcerers know fewer spells than wizards do and acquire them more slowly, but they can cast individual spells more often and have no need to prepare their incantations ahead of time. Also unlike wizards, sorcerers cannot specialize in a school of magic. Since sorcerers gain their powers without undergoing the years of rigorous study that wizards go through, they have more time to learn fighting skills and are proficient with simple weapons. Charisma is very important for sorcerers; the higher their value in this ability, the higher the spell level they can cast.
